Senna Tribute: Ducati Hypermotard 1100S by Analog Motorcycles

Ducati Hypermotard 1100S

A few years ago the team at Analog Motorcycles built the Hyper8, a stripped down race bike with one goal in mind. It had no lights, no concessions to comfort, just raw Ducati power wrapped in sharp custom bodywork. The bike drew plenty of attention and even earned a feature on Bike EXIF.

One of the people watching was Jorge, a Ducati owner with a 2010 Hypermotard 1100S in his garage. He loved the look of the Hyper8 but wanted something he could ride on the street. His request to Analog was simple. Build me a Hypermotard that looks every bit as focused as the Hyper8, but keep it road legal.

Jorge wasn’t chasing performance upgrades. What he wanted was a machine that carried the same presence as the Hyper8 while still being practical enough for daily riding. Analog agreed to take on the project and the work began.

Tony Prust and his team started with the hand fabricated details. They shaped new number plates for the sides, built a front plate that housed a custom LED headlight, and designed the brackets to hold everything together cleanly. The exhaust system was built around a set of MIVV headers, joined with a custom mid pipe and finished with a Cone Engineering muffler. Air is drawn through a K&N filter to keep things breathing freely.

As the project moved forward Jorge decided to go deeper. He asked for a full Motogadget M.Unit Blue setup, which meant the entire bike needed to be rewired. Analog installed a Microtec ECU and the final tune was handled by Mark, known for his work at the former Ducshop.

While the mechanical work was underway the question of paint kept coming up. At first there was no clear decision. Then the idea of a Senna tribute surfaced and quickly took hold. Ducati has released Senna editions before, but never for the Hypermotard. This was the chance to imagine what that could have looked like.

To get the colors right Analog went the extra mile. Powder coat samples were sent to Brian Case, Executive Director at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, where they were matched against an original Senna frame. The final paintwork was entrusted to Jason at Artistimo Customs, a Ducati specialist who brought the scheme to life. The result is striking. A silver-gold frame with black, grey, and red accents that instantly recalls Ducati’s Senna heritage.

Weight savings came from carbon fiber. The bike wears a tail section from AviaCompositi along with a carbon tank cover, hugger, chain guards, and a front fender mounted on custom brackets. The seat was stitched by Dane at Plzbeseated. A Matris rear shock and Ducabike ride height adjuster sharpened the chassis, while CNC rearsets completed the rider’s triangle.

The cockpit was rebuilt with Motogadget controls and three stacked Denali D2 headlights. Magura HC3 master cylinders, custom Spiegler lines, and Galfer brakes tightened the stopping power. Analog Signal Pods handle turn signals front and rear, keeping the profile slim and clean. Small details add up everywhere you look. An STM slipper clutch hides behind a CNC cover. Driven sprockets and gas cap provide subtle highlights. Even the grips and bar end mirrors were chosen to match the refined but purposeful style.

From a distance it looks like a Hypermotard that Ducati might have built themselves, had they ever produced a Senna edition. Up close the handmade details set it apart. It’s lean, aggressive, and unmistakably custom.

Jorge wanted a street legal machine that carried the spirit of the Hyper8. What he received is more than that. This Hypermotard is both a tribute and an evolution. A nod to Ducati’s history, a celebration of Ayrton Senna, and a showcase of Analog’s craft.
