Max X Bobber: BMW R nineT by Kevils Speed Shop

John is a property developer in Wimbledon, London. He wanted a bike that felt modern to ride and personal to own. He did not want a show bike. He wanted something for real roads.

He chose a 2017 BMW R nineT Scrambler X with the 1200 engine and handed it to Kevils Speed Shop. His brief was simple and clear. Build a bobber. Keep it minimal. Make it different from the usual R nineT customs.

The plan began with the rear. Kevils opened up the tail and set a solo seat in place. It is trimmed in red leather with a tight diamond pattern. The seat mounts to a post welded to the frame that ties into the monoshock bracket. The lines are short and tidy, and the stance sits low without looking heavy.

To clear the middle of the BMW R nineT, the airbox came out and the battery moved into a box under the tank. That change gives the bike an open frame and a lighter look. Pod filters take care of intake, so the boxer breathes easily and sounds clean when you crack the throttle.

A full stainless pie-cut exhaust runs down the side, with an SC-Project end can at the tip. It looks sharp up close and has a deep, clean note on the road. The engine is mapped with a Rapid Bike system, so the fueling stays smooth in traffic and pulls strongly when you ask for more.

The running gear suits everyday riding. Tubeless rims wear Bridgestone tires. An uprated rear shock keeps the back end settled. Clip-on bars bring your hands low and close. A billet bezel neatly frames the original clocks. Lighting is all LED, with a headlight up front, Motogadget bar-end indicators, and compact Rizoma units at the rear that handle stop, tail, and turn.

Engine bars protect the cases, and an oil cooler guard sits where it should. A Kevils Speed Shop fuel cap and small hardware choices add a bit of character. Most of the silver parts were powder-coated black, so the whole bike reads as Graphite Black from nose to tail.

On the move the build feels tight and direct. The seat is low, the controls are close, and the bike turns with a steady, planted feel. The boxer gives that familiar BMW R nineT shove, only with a cleaner response thanks to the intake and tune. It is a bobber in shape and a BMW in the way it rides.

Kevils calls it the Max X Bobber. The name fits the look. It has a short tail, an open middle, and a strong stainless note. The base might be a Scrambler X, but the message now is pure bobber. John asked for a simple, unique machine he could enjoy on real roads. This BMW R nineT Scrambler X bobber by Kevils Speed Shop gives him exactly that.
